India–Bangladesh Relations: Foreign Policy or Family Law?
2019 — Abdul Momen (then AL Foreign Minister, now in hiding): "The relationship between the two countries (Bangladesh and India) is very good—much like that of a husband and wife."
2026 — GM Siraj (BNP MP): "A husband and wife may divorce. But India and Bangladesh are neighbours—there can be no divorce in this neighbour-relationship."
Reading the two together, our foreign policy with India now reads like a new branch of family law.
